'The Rose' by Memphis May Fire

For this 80’s glam metal throwback music video, Director Brian Thompson wanted a nostalgic aesthetic. Purely analog tools were used by Adam Badlotto to achieve this.

First, the music video was bounced to a VHS tape. Adam then took the VCR player apart, exposing the inner components. As the VHS tape played back and was re-digitized, he manipulated the inner components by hand, creating analog glitches in real-time.

The music video garnered over 1 million views on the Rise Records YouTube channel.
